In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and peace and blessings be upon the most virtous Prophet.
Mr. President of the Republic,
Mr. Prime Minister,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
It is a honor for me to stand before you today, having been entrusted by the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, with the responsibility of leading the Energy and Renewable Energies sector in our country. As I express to him my deepest gratitude and appreciation for this confidence, I fully recognize the gravity of this responsibility and pledge to assume it with sincerity and dedication, placing the supreme interest of the nation above all else.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The energy and renewable energy sector constitutes a fundamental pillar of our national economy. Today, we bear the responsibility of developing and advancing this sector in line with our country’s aspirations for the energy transition, the strengthening of energy security, and the attraction of investments, while ensuring the rational and sustainable use of our natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the outset of assuming my duties at the head of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, I wish to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Mohamed Arkab, former Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Renewable Energies and Mines, who has been entrusted in the new government with the portfolio of hydrocarbons and mines, for his dedicated efforts in serving this vital sector and for the achievements accomplished during his tenure, as well as for his support of all the strategic programs implemented within Sonelgaz.
We consider these achievements as a solid foundation upon which we will continue our efforts to strengthen our energy security, develop conventional and renewable energy projects, and support the national economy in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic.
I commit to working with a strong sense of responsibility and in close consultation with all stakeholders in the sector to achieve our shared objectives in service of the nation and the citizen.
Moreover, we will relentlessly strive to win the challenge of reducing economic dependency, particularly with regard to energy equipment and technologies. At the same time, access to foreign markets remains one of the top priorities of our strategy in the near future.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
On this occasion, I cannot but extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the women and men of Sonelgaz for their continuous efforts and the achievements they have realized, which have contributed to the development of the energy sector and strengthened its position as one of the pillars of our national economy.
What has been achieved would not have been possible without your dedication, commitment, and strong sense of responsibility. Today, as we embark on a new phase, the challenges ahead are significant—whether in ensuring energy security, developing major projects, or keeping pace with global transformations toward clean energy.
I call upon you all to exert greater effort, foster innovation, and work with a true team spirit, so that we may rise to these challenges and turn them into opportunities that benefit our nation and our people.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am confident that through collective effort and close coordination with all relevant sectors and institutions, we will be able to overcome challenges and succeed in the coming phase, in service of the New Algeria project and the aspirations of our noble people.
In conclusion, I renew my profound gratitude to the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for this confidence, praying to Almighty Allah to grant us success in serving Algeria and the interests of its people.
Thank you for your kind attention.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies
