In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening brotherly relations, cooperation, and solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received on 4 June 2026 the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Success of Algerian Expertise in Completing the Gorou Banda Power Plant Project in Niger with a Capacity of 40 MW and Commissioning It Within a Record Timeframe

Acting on instructions from the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, accompanied the Prime Minister, Mr. Seifi Ghrieb, on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, during a working visit to the Republic of Niger to oversee the inauguration ceremony of the Algerian–Nigerien Solidarity Power Plant, with a capacity of 40 MW, completed in the Gorou Banda area of Niamey.

Dr. Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, received at his ministry Mr. Farid Ghazali, the newly appointed Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO). The meeting was dedicated to discussing avenues for cooperation and partnership between the energy and renewable energy sector and this important regional organization.

In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at promoting and expanding international partnership horizons and strengthening cooperation at the continental level, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received today, Saturday, 28 March 2026, the Minister of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, current Chair of the Ministerial Meeting of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), who is on an official working visit to Algeria from 28 to 31 March.
