Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Receives Delegation of Senior Executives from the International Finance Corporation

As part of efforts to strengthen external cooperation and explore ways to expand Algeria’s international partnerships, particularly at the continental level, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr Mourad Adjal, received on Sunday, 8 February 2026, a delegation of senior executives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Mr Ethiopis Tafara, IFC’s regional Vice President for Africa. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, focused on discussing avenues for enhancing partnership opportunities between the sector and this global financial institution at both national and international levels.

In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening Algerian–Italian economic cooperation, and on the sidelines of the conference organised by the Bank of Algeria in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund under the theme “North Africa – Connecting Continents and Creating Opportunities”, Dr Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, on Thursday, 5 February 2026, received the Italian Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Mr Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. Coordination and Follow-Up Meeting Between the Ministries of Hydrocarbons and Mines and Energy and Renewable Energies on the Progress of Several Structuring Projects

In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at accelerating the pace of completion of a number of structuring projects, a joint coordination meeting was chaired on 03 February 2026 by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines, was attended by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines in charge of Mines, Ms. Karima Bakir Tafer, along with several senior executives from both ministries and their affiliated institutions.

ollowing the weather fluctuations experienced in Algeria on 28 and 29 January 2026, Dr. Adj al Mourad, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, paid a working and inspection visit on 28 January to the National Electricity Grid Control Center, in order to assess the level of preparedness and mobilization of Sonelgaz – Electricity Transmission and system operator teams in addressing the repercussions of these weather disturbances.

The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, arrived on a working visit in the company of the Minister of state, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines Mr. Mohamed Arkab, on January 20, 2026 at N’Djamena International Airport, capital of the Republic of Chad. The delegation included the Minister of Industry, Chief Executive Officer of Sonatrach Group, Chief Executive Officer of Naftal, Chief Executive Officer of Algerian Cement Industrial Group (GICA), as well as senior executives from the hydrocarbons, mines, energy and industry sectors.
