Within the framework of strengthening the Algerian presence on the African continent and consolidating relations of cooperation and partnership with brotherly countries, in embodiment of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at promoting South-South cooperation, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, paid an official working visit to the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, on June 29 and 30, 2026, heading a high-level delegation. The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Ministry's headquarters, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, who is visiting Algeria in his capacity as President of the Assembly and Chair of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). The meeting took place in the presence of Ministry executives and representatives of the Institute.

Laying of the Foundation Stone for the Algerian-Chadian Solidarity Power Plant in N'Djamena

On 8 June 2026, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, accompanied the Prime Minister, Mr. Seifi Ghrieb, on a working visit to the Republic of Chad. In the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Chad, Mr. Allamaye Halina, they presided over the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Algerian-Chadian Solidarity Power Plant in N'Djamena, with an installed generation capacity of 40 MW.
