Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Receives Delegation of Senior Executives from the International Finance Corporation

As part of efforts to strengthen external cooperation and explore ways to expand Algeria’s international partnerships, particularly at the continental level, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr Mourad Adjal, received on Sunday, 8 February 2026, a delegation of senior executives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Mr Ethiopis Tafara, IFC’s regional Vice President for Africa. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, focused on discussing avenues for enhancing partnership opportunities between the sector and this global financial institution at both national and international levels.

In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at accelerating the pace of completion of a number of structuring projects, a joint coordination meeting was chaired on 03 February 2026 by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines, was attended by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines in charge of Mines, Ms. Karima Bakir Tafer, along with several senior executives from both ministries and their affiliated institutions.

As part of the field visit program initiated by the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies to monitor strategic projects within the sector, Dr Mourad Adjal, accompanied by senior officials within his ministerial department, conducted an official visit to the Wilaya of Tipaza on January 19, 2026. At the beginning of the visit, the Minister, alongside the Wali of Tipaza, inspected the project implementation of a high and extra high voltage electrical transformer station (220/60 KV Cherchell 2).
