Dr. Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, received at his ministry Mr. Farid Ghazali, the newly appointed Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO). The meeting was dedicated to discussing avenues for cooperation and partnership between the energy and renewable energy sector and this important regional organization.

In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at promoting and expanding international partnership horizons and strengthening cooperation at the continental level, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received today, Saturday, 28 March 2026, the Minister of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, current Chair of the Ministerial Meeting of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), who is on an official working visit to Algeria from 28 to 31 March.

As part of efforts to strengthen external cooperation, explore ways to expand Algeria’s international partnerships, and enhance its position in foreign energy markets, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received today, Tuesday, 10 March 2026, a delegation of senior officials from ElSewedy Electric Algeria, headed by Mr. Mostafa Awad El-Helwany, General Manager of ElSewedy Electric Algeria. The meeting focused on the status of cooperation with the Egyptian partner, ElSewedy, and the progress achieved regarding the set of agreements linking the Algerian energy operator Sonelgaz with ElSewedy Electric.

Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, accompanied the Prime Minister, Mr. Seifi Ghrieb, today, Tuesday, 24 February, on a working and inspection visit to the Wilaya of Oran, to oversee the ceremonies marking the seventieth (70th) anniversary of the establishment of the General Union of Algerian Workers and the fifty-fifth (55th) anniversary of the nationalization of hydrocarbons.

On Sunday, 15 February 2026, both the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received the Minister of Energy and Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, who is on an official visit to Algeria. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including officials from Mauritania’s major energy institutions, such as the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company (SMH), Mauritanian Electricity Company (SOMELEC), and Mauritanian Refining Company (SOMIR), alongside several ministry officials.
