Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Chairs the Opening of a Meeting on Consumer Protection and the Quality of Public Electricity and Gas Services

On Thursday, 18 June 2026, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, chaired the opening session of the national meeting organized by the Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission (CREG), with the participation of representatives of consumer protection associations and various stakeholders from the energy sector.

In his opening remarks, the Minister stressed that consumer protection and improving the quality of public electricity and gas services constitute a key priority within the State’s efforts to develop public services and strengthen citizens’ trust. He emphasized that citizens remain at the heart of all programmes and measures implemented by the sector, underlining the need to guarantee their right to quality, continuous, transparent and equitable public services.

The Minister also highlighted the progress achieved in the digitalization of services and the simplification of customer procedures, noting that digital solutions contribute to improving service quality, enhancing transparency and increasing the reliability of electricity and gas supply.

With the summer season approaching, the Minister affirmed that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the continuity of energy supply and meet the growing demand for electricity. He also called for rational energy consumption and the promotion of a culture of energy efficiency.

He reiterated the importance of energy efficiency and energy management as two key pillars for achieving sustainable development and recalled the establishment of the Intersectoral Joint Committee on Energy Management to strengthen coordination, rationalize energy consumption, improve efficiency and promote renewable energies.

In conclusion, the Minister reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to continuing the modernization of public electricity and gas services in line with citizens’ expectations and national development requirements.
