The walid ; of wilaya of ; Khenchela

President of the People’s Assembly of the wilaya

Honourable Members of Parliament from both chambers,

Representatives of the security and civil authorities,

Heads of districts,

Mayors,

Elected officials at the provincial and municipal levels,

Executive directors,

Members of the media,

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

It is a great honor and pleasure to stand among you today in the esteemed Province of Khenchela, a region with a proud history and deep-rooted identity. I extend my sincere thanks to all of you for your warm welcome and hospitality, qualities that reflect the province’s rich heritage and national contributions.

Khenchela is among the first provinces included in our field-visit program, undertaken to implement the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s, directives aimed at bringing government closer to citizens, listening to their concerns, improving public services, and raising living standards across the nation.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Khenchela holds historical and economic significance, thanks to its strategic location in the Aurès Mountains and its natural resources, which give it a notable role in agriculture and mountain resource development. The province also serves as a promising area for the State’s efforts toward balanced and sustainable development nationwide.

Our visit today focuses on assessing the performance of the energy sector in Khenchela and reviewing the progress of development programs and projects. This aligns with the special attention given to the province by the President of the Republic, including a complementary program to strengthen infrastructure, enhance services, support strategic projects, and improve energy security and service quality across the region. The program also aims to enhance overall sector performance and support comprehensive development in line with national priorities.

The Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies prioritizes implementing a broad development program to improve public service across all provinces, including Khenchela, where electricity coverage has reached 98% and gas coverage 90%. In addition, efforts to strengthen electricity and gas networks and develop energy infrastructure suitable to the province’s geography continue, responding to rising demand for electricity and gas. These measures also aim to support local economic activity in agriculture, industry, and local investment, providing the necessary energy conditions to sustain these sectors and create tangible added value.

We reaffirm our commitment to listening to the concerns of elected officials and local executive authorities, reviewing all energy-related issues, and taking appropriate measures in coordination with local authorities and relevant institutions to improve the performance of ministerial services, ensuring high-quality public service and contributing to the province’s local development.

In conclusion, I express my deep appreciation for the dedication, competence, and collective will I witnessed today in Khenchela, all aimed at building a promising energy future for Algeria. The projects underway in the province reflect a genuine commitment to citizens and balanced development across all provinces. I also extend my sincere thanks to everyone for their warm welcome and hospitality.

May Allah guide us all in serving the best interests of Algeria and its people.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies

Dr. Mourad Adjal
