The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Ajal, received, on Monday, 20 October 2025, at the headquarters of his ministerial department, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi. During this meeting, which was attended by a number of senior executives of the Ministry, both parties highlighted the status of the projects forming the subject of cooperation between Algeria and the International Atomic Energy Agency, as well as the positive progress achieved in this regard.

In his address, Dr. Mourad Ajal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, stressed the need for the Agency to support a number of development projects in Algeria, particularly those related to training in mechanisms for the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the transfer of expertise in the field of nuclear science and technology, including nuclear medicine.

For his part, Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with Algeria, which the Agency considers a model to be followed in this field. In conclusion, both parties emphasized the necessity of expanding the scope of cooperation between Algeria and the International Atomic Energy Agency, which works to promote the safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
