In pursuit of expanding into European markets and enhancing Algeria’s international cooperation, Dr. Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, received today, Thursday, November 20, 2025, a delegation from the Federal State of Bavaria, Germany, led by Mr. Tobias Gotthardt, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation and partnership between Algeria and Bavaria.

During his remarks, delivered in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry, Dr. Mourad Adjal highlighted the strong and positive relations between Algeria and Germany, expressing Algeria’s interest in expanding this cooperation across various economic sectors, particularly energy. He outlined Algeria’s significant energy mix, both conventional and renewable, as well as its capacities in nuclear energy and green hydrogen, emphasizing the country’s potential to become a reliable energy partner and a strong energy supplier to Europe.

The minister also presented key ongoing energy projects, including the 15,000 MW renewable energy production program and the North-South electricity interconnection project, which will facilitate the export of clean energy to Europe. He expressed Algeria’s keen interest in securing further partnerships with German stakeholders across different economic fields.

For his part, Mr. Tobias Gotthardt expressed Germany’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Algeria through strong and mutually beneficial economic partnerships in the energy sector, highlighting Europe’s growing energy demand and the potential for transferring advanced German technology to Algeria.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to consider this encounter as a launching point for a collaborative project, paving the way for joint sessions of exchange and consultation to study and identify potential areas of cooperation and partnership.
