The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi. During this meeting, which was attended by several senior officials of the ministry, both parties reviewed the status of projects under cooperation between Algeria and the IAEA, noting the positive progress achieved.

In his remarks, Dr. Mourad Adjal emphasized the importance of the IAEA’s support for Algeria’s development projects, particularly those related to training in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and the transfer of expertise in nuclear science and technology, including nuclear medicine.

For his part, Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation with Algeria, which he described as a model country in this field.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the need to expand areas of cooperation between Algeria and the International Atomic Energy Agency, which works to promote the safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
