As part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and expand Algeria’s global energy partnerships, Dr. Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, received today, Monday, November 10, 2025, a delegation of senior officials from the American company General Electric (GE), led by Mr. Joseph Anis, Executive Director of Energy Services for South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa at GE Vernova. The meeting focused on exploring ways to expand partnership and cooperation between the U.S. company and the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, particularly with the Sonelgaz Group.

During the meeting, held at the Ministry and attended by several senior officials, Dr. Mourad Adjal highlighted the great importance that the Algerian government places on the energy and renewable energies sector, noting that it represents a major challenge and a key driver of sustainable development. He emphasized that this challenge requires carefully selecting partners and expressed satisfaction with the partnership between Sonelgaz and GE, describing it as a model to be emulated by American and international investors.

For his part, Mr. Joseph Anis praised the level of cooperation between GE and the Ministry, represented by Sonelgaz, expressing his company’s commitment to expanding the partnership. He emphasized that Sonelgaz is a trusted and key partner and stressed the importance of developing this collaboration over the next five years to meet the evolving demands of the energy market, which has experienced continuous growth in recent years.
