Within the framework of a policy to strengthen external cooperation, and openness to European and continental foreign markets, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, today, Monday, November 17, 2025, received a delegation of main officials from the German Siemens Energy Company, headed by Mr. Dietmar Siersdorfer, General Manager in charge of the Middle East and Africa region in the German group. The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the ministerial office of Energy and Renewable Energies, was dedicated to discussing ways to expand cooperation and partnership areas between the German operator and the services of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, particularly the Sonelgaz Group.

In his intervention during the meeting, which was attended by a number of main executives in the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, and the acting General Manager of the Sonelgaz Group, Dr. Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, affirmed the Algerian government’s interest in strengthening cooperation ties and opening partnership opportunities with German economic operators, emphasizing the necessity of finding new areas of partnership that would restore the level of Algerian-German economic relations to its former status. The sector’s chief also spoke about the Algerian government’s keenness to attract strong and reliable investors and economic operators, such as the German operator Siemens, noting Algeria’s important position in Africa, which would support cooperation with the German partner through opening significant prospects for accessing African markets, as well as Middle East markets, always within the framework of the win/win principle.

For his part, Mr. Dietmar Siersdorfer, General Manager in charge of the Middle East and Africa region in the German group, praised the level of cooperation and support he observed from the Algerian operator Sonelgaz, expressing his company’s interest in strengthening and supporting cooperation with the Algerian side given its important economic position in the African market.

The meeting concluded by affirming the necessity to activate the level of partnership and cooperation between the Algerian and German sides and give it more dynamism according to a roadmap that bears fruit within the set deadlines, which would enhance the level of Algerian-German cooperation in a way that meets the ambitions of both parties.
