As part of the field visit program initiated by the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies to monitor strategic projects within the sector, Dr Mourad Adjal, accompanied by senior officials within his ministerial department, conducted an official visit to the Wilaya of Tipaza on January 19, 2026. At the beginning of the visit, the Minister, alongside the Wali of Tipaza, inspected the project implementation of a high and extra high voltage electrical transformer station (220/60 KV Cherchell 2).
During the visit, the Minister received briefings on the progress of work of this project which aims to strengthen the electricity grid in the Wilaya, improve service quality and continuity, in addition to three other electrical transformer stations (60/30 KV) that have already entered service.
The Minister emphasized the necessity of adhering to completion deadlines and quality and safety standards, calling for accelerating the pace of work, and completing the projects within the set timeframes in order to support local development.
The visit program also included a working meeting held by the Minister at the Wilaya level, dedicated to presenting an overview of the energy sector’s status in the Wilaya, it covered the level of electricity and gas supply, the status of networks and energy facilities, completed end ongoing projects, as well as future programs planned for sector development. Following the presentation, a discussion was opened to listen to the interventions and concerns of local elected officials and representatives of local authorities, particularly regarding service quality improvement, distribution networks expansion, and connecting isolated areas, and proposing solutions to address the identified shortcomings.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister issued a set of directives and instructions aimed at raising performance levels, strengthening coordination between the various stakeholders, accelerating the pace of project completion, and enhancing the energy service provided to the citizens, thereby contributing to the support of local development.
