Following the weather fluctuations experienced in Algeria on 28 and 29 January 2026, Dr. Adj al Mourad, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, paid a working and inspection visit on 28 January to the National Electricity Grid Control Center, in order to assess the level of preparedness and mobilization of Sonelgaz – Electricity Transmission and system operator teams in addressing the repercussions of these weather disturbances.
During his visit, the Minister received detailed briefings on the measures taken to ensure the stability of the national electricity grid, as well as on the round-the-clock operation and continuous rotation of the electricity system management teams, aimed at guaranteeing uninterrupted power supply across the entire national territory, particularly in the regions affected by the adverse weather conditions
