In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at accelerating the pace of completion of a number of structuring projects, a joint coordination meeting was chaired on 03 February 2026 by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines, was attended by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines in charge of Mines, Ms. Karima Bakir Tafer, along with several senior executives from both ministries and their affiliated institutions.

The meeting was devoted to monitoring and assessing the progress of implementation of a number of strategic projects, particularly with regard to their connection to electric power and natural gas networks, namely:

• • The Tala Hamza Zinc Mine Project ;
  • The Integrated Phosphate Mine Project in the Wilaya of Tebessa ;
  • The Gara Djebilet Mine Project (Tindouf–Béchar);
  • Seawater desalination plant projects.

During the meeting, which featured the presentation of several detailed technical reports on the progress of the aforementioned projects, the Ministers stressed the importance of accelerating implementation timelines, reducing delivery deadlines, and strengthening coordination, particularly between the services of both ministries, in order to ensure completion under optimal conditions.
