S’exprimant sur les développements observés récemment sur le marché pétrolier international, le Ministre de l’Energie et des Mines, M. Mohamed Arkab, s’est dit extrêmement attentif quant à son évolution à court et moyen termes.

M. Mohamed Arkab a rappelé que les pays de la Déclaration de Coopération ont fait preuve de sagesse et d’une exceptionnelle clairvoyance en décidant unanimement et de manière transparente de réduire en octobre dernier leur production globale de 2 Mbj jusqu’à la fin 2023 afin d’assurer la stabilité et l’équilibre du marché pétrolier international au profit de l’économie mondiale.

Les efforts déployés par les pays de la Déclaration de Coopération depuis plus de 6 années pourraient être injustement anéantis par l’adoption de mesures unilatérales et de législations visant à dévoyer les mécanismes du marché, ce qui conduirait à un sous-investissement dans l’industrie pétrolière, des perturbations majeures dans les flux d’approvisionnement et créerait les conditions d’une instabilité durable du marché pétrolier.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, stated that he is extremely attentive to the evolution of the short and medium terms of the international oil market, when speaking about the recent developments observed in the financial markets.

Mr. Mohamed Arkab has recalled that the countries of the Declaration of Cooperation have demonstrated wisdom and exceptional foresight by unanimously and in a transparent manner deciding last October to reduce their overall production by 2 mb/d until the end of 2023, in order to ensure stability and balance in the international oil market for the benefit of the global economy.

The efforts made by the countries of the Declaration of Cooperation for over 6 years could be unjustly annihilated by the adoption of unilateral measures and legislation aimed at distorting the market mechanisms, which would lead to uncertainty, further underinvestment in the oil industry, major disruptions in supply flows and would create conditions for sustained instability in the oil market.
