The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies participates in a high-level working visit to the Republic of Chad

The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, arrived on a working visit in the company of the Minister of state, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines Mr. Mohamed Arkab, on January 20, 2026 at N’Djamena International Airport, capital of the Republic of Chad. The delegation included the Minister of Industry, Chief Executive Officer of Sonatrach Group, Chief Executive Officer of Naftal, Chief Executive Officer of Algerian Cement Industrial Group (GICA), as well as senior executives from the hydrocarbons, mines, energy and industry sectors. Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies reviews the performance level of the sector in the Wilaya of Tipaza

As part of the field visit program initiated by the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies to monitor strategic projects within the sector, Dr Mourad Adjal, accompanied by senior officials within his ministerial department, conducted an official visit to the Wilaya of Tipaza on January 19, 2026. At the beginning of the visit, the Minister, alongside the Wali of Tipaza, inspected the project implementation of a high and extra high voltage electrical transformer station (220/60 KV Cherchell 2).

Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Oversees the Installation of the New Chairwoman of the Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission

The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, presided over the official installation ceremony of the new Chairwoman of the Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission on December 22, 2025. Ms. Bahia Chkirid was appointed to replace her predecessor, Ms. Wassila Atimen. This change comes within the framework of strengthening institutional performance and consolidating the principles of good governance.

Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Mr. Seifi Ghrib, and at the invitation of the Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, Ms. Kawther Krikou, Dr. Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, participated on December 21, 2025, alongside a number of fellow ministers, in the opening ceremony of the National Study Meeting on Quality of Life. The event was held at the Moufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture under the slogan “National Achievements with Developmental Stakes.”
