Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, and Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Discuss Ways to Strengthen Cooperation with Mauritania’s Minister of Energy and Petroleum

On Sunday, 15 February 2026, both the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received the Minister of Energy and Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, who is on an official visit to Algeria. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including officials from Mauritania’s major energy institutions, such as the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company (SMH), Mauritanian Electricity Company (SOMELEC), and Mauritanian Refining Company (SOMIR), alongside several ministry officials.

As part of the implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at exploring ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Burkina Faso, particularly in the fields of energy, mining, and hydrocarbons, the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, paid a working visit to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, on February 12, 2026. The Sixth High-Level Dialogue Meeting on the Strategic Partnership between Algeria and the European Union in the Field of Energy

Under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal, and the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Mr. Dan Jørgensen, on the European side, the sixth High-Level Political Dialogue on Energy between Algeria and the European Union was held today, Thursday, 12 February 2026, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies in Algiers.

Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Receives Delegation of Senior Executives from the International Finance Corporation

As part of efforts to strengthen external cooperation and explore ways to expand Algeria’s international partnerships, particularly at the continental level, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr Mourad Adjal, received on Sunday, 8 February 2026, a delegation of senior executives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Mr Ethiopis Tafara, IFC’s regional Vice President for Africa. The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, focused on discussing avenues for enhancing partnership opportunities between the sector and this global financial institution at both national and international levels.

The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, today, Saturday, November 15, 2025, supervised the opening ceremony of the “First National Meeting of Energy and Renewable Energies Sector Officials,” which witnessed the participation of the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines in charge of Mines, Mrs. Karima Tafer, alongside the managing executives of the two ministerial offices and the officials of the Energy and Renewable Energies sector.
